Day ten in Delhi

Not made a full post for a while as things have really ramped up in terms of the speed at which subjects are covered so I have been having to spend most of my time studying.

So far, I have passed two exams, which means I am a Microsoft Certified Professional now, with access to the mcp.microsoft.com website. Continue Reading

Day one in Delhi

So far, I have settled in, gotten to know fellow students also staying in this apartment as well as some of the staff and taken a little walk round and figure out what Delhi is like.

First up… Delhi contrasts everywhere in buildings, landscapes and people. Its neat but even with the chaos of the traffic, everything seems more relaxed. When we checked the local shops, it was all very slow paced. Continue Reading

Server 2008 on a Netbook

As I am working towards MCITP:EA I decided to install Server 2008 on it and see what it can do. Thought I would share the results and process.

The netbook is not upgraded so only has a 1.6Ghz Atom Processor and 1GB Memory. Unfortunately it also only has a 32bit processor, so I won’t be able to try with Server 2008 R2 as that only comes in x64 editions. Continue Reading

As there is only a few weeks left before I start the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator course and exams, I need to be as prepared as possible for it, so I am trying to increase the amount of time I spend reading up on the subjects or watching videos. Continue Reading

Minecraft server projects

Over the past few months I have been running a Minecraft multiplayer server for various friends, mostly from Eve Online. Recently a load of new players brought the game and joined and after just a few weeks many new projects appeared.

Those projects are below along with there annotations. If I have many any errors on who constructed what, let me know.

Delhi & Microsoft Certification

Having negotiated for some training in this years staff appraisal among other things, later this year I am now travelling to Delhi to do some work out there and also take a course for a Microsoft Certification.

The Microsoft Certification I am working towards is called MCITP: Enterprise Administrator and handily covers pretty much everything I do in my job, but should teach me the correct way of doing things or help me understand why things are done as well as how to correctly do them. So over a short space of time I will have to study for and take five exams… Continue Reading
