Snow in Bath, but not much…

Having worked until the early hours of the morning the night before I woke up late and scrambled to get ready for work, fifteen minutes later I grabbed my bag and started heading down the 70 or so steps from my apartment to the ground floor, opened the door to see a pavement covered in Snow.

Slightly shocked that it actually snowed in December for once near Christmas, I suddenly remembered I always wanted to get a photo of snow covered bath rooftops from my living room window, so I dashed back up to my apartment and actually opened the curtains and took a few very quick photos with my phone before quickly sprinting back down the stairs and heading to work. Doctor Who at Cardiff Bay

This weekend I had the pleasure of taking a break from work to head to Cardiff to celebrate a friends Birthday.

There were a few noteworthy events…

First of all, I managed to see two films, both of which were really enjoyable. 2012 was suitably enjoyable being a pretty standard action film. Then there was Paranormal Activity. Now I don’t normally do horror at all. I have yet to get more than a few hours in to Doom 3 or Fear games as they scare the crap out of me, and I don’t normally watch horror films at all… Continue Reading

Seasonal Tier System Mark 2

In a similar fashion to last years successful christmas, I had hoped to set a budget on my Christmas spending based on how much excess cash I had availible and then use that divided into different tier’s as a means to budget the cost of christmas. However, due to some ever increasing costs of living, even after cancelling some Eve Online subscriptions, it turns out from my cash flow monitoring that there is no cash flow. lol? Below is the estimate for December 2009. I realise I will have to tweak that. Continue Reading

All work and no play…

…make me quite detached from reality.

A few friends have noticed that I have been less active in Eve Online, IRC, MSN, Gtalk and not really out and about much either. Ignoring some emails and calls too… It’s all due to work.

Due to some unexpected circumstance. I ended up with the interesting job of having to replace the entire IT Infrastructure for the Art Loss Register and The Equipment Register. Continue Reading

Volition Cult 3 Year Anniversary Meetup

People may wonder why have I been busy for the past two months?

Over three years ago, in the virtual world of Eve Online, a few players decided to get together and form The Volition Cult (VOLT) Alliance in game, and choose to fly together for common goals within the game.

Back then, it started out simply as a means of players working together for personnel gain within the game. Three years on, and it has turned into much more than that… Its now a community of friends, or almost “extended family” almost as some of the people I know from within VOLT, know me better than real life friends or family. Preparations for the UK Meet

For over a month, I have been busy with preparations for a large meeting in the UK to celebrate the third year anniversary of an online community I am part of.

As a result, I have been a little distracted as I spend my time double checking plans, and coordinating with everyone to make sure everyone’s travel arrangements are all set, and sorting out events that suit everyone’s different arrival and departure times… Somewhat of a nightmare really, but doable. Snowdon AAR

Having travelled to Manchester with Nick, I stayed in Manchester for most of the week in his very nice apartment. However on Friday 4th September 2009, we drove over to Snowdonia for our walk to the summit of Snowdon.

We arrived at Rhyd Ddu, and decided to use the Rhyd Ddu route as it would be quieter, as on the opposite side of Snowdon.

The walk itself is relatively easy going, as we managed to cover 11.15km in 3 Hours, 39 Minutes, as we travelled from Rhyd Ddu to Bwlch Main. However, cloud cover was quite low, and we quickly found ourselves in not so good conditions. Continue Reading

Slogan Competition Results

Having worked through all of the submissions, I have decided on a winner. But before I announce the winner, I will list off a few of the other entrys, some of which made me laugh.

“Taking time out from masterminding domination of the spacelanes”
“Now without added MAAT”
“More useful than a Swiss Army Knife” Continue Reading

Sixth VOLT Newsletter Published

I have just finished the sixth Volition Cult newsletter for the period September 2009. While there are probably many spelling and grammar errors that I may have to fix as people spot them, I have just uploaded the PDF file.

The original announcement was made on this website, but as I have put a fair amount of work into this months 45 Page newsletter, thought I should cross post here as well because I am proud of it. Continue Reading

UK Government Fails…

I am referring to the recent news that the UK Government is even considering the idea of forcing ISP’s to disconnect users for whatever reason. It seems that Lord Mandelson and the Labour Party who seem to be even considering this are a bunch of idiots.

Almost everything I do now revolves around the Internet… From my work, gaming, shopping, and most importantly furthering my education and knowledge. Continue Reading
